Riviere Towans, Phillack, Hayle, Cornwall
Self catering chalets by the beach Welcome to Cornwall Chalet Breaks. We have 3 chalets available for hire from Easter to the end of October. Riviere Towans is set on grass covered dunes beside the three-mile stretch of Hayle beach. Hayle is on the north coast of St Ives Bay and is within easy reach of all Cornwall's main attractions.
The Chalet site has many large open spaces and several play areas for children. The three-mile long beach is five to ten minutes walk through the site. Dogs are permitted on designated parts of the beach during the Summer months and the beach is patrolled by Lifeguards during the main Summer season. During low tide it is pleasant to walk from the Hayle estuary right across to Godrevy and the return journey can be made by the coastal footpath if desired. The beach at Godrevy is also sandy, and has some magnificent rocks, which during low tide have many rock pools for children to explore. There are two Pubs within a few minutes walking distance of the chalets. The Bluff Inn is right by the sea with spectacular views across the bay to St Ives. The other is the 'Bucket of Blood' in the village of Phillack. Hayle, where you can access many Pubs and Restaurants, is a five minute drive from the chalet site, but is only a 20 minute walk along footpaths. Also, there is the King George V memorial walk with views over Copperhouse Pool. This is a RSPB nature reserve and a site of special scientific interest. Hayle estuary is renowned among bird watchers and the area is ideal for coastal walks. There are many beautiful walks around the chalet site and for this reason, we are happy to welcome well behaved dogs and their owners. For day-to-day shopping requirements there is a small supermarket on the edge of the site, near the beach. There is a Co-op and a Lidl Supermarket in Hayle, and a modern retail park on the A30 at the entrance to Hayle itself. From the dunes towards St Ives.
